Our vision is transforming the aging process through the comfort of home through our core values of community, support, dignity, energy, compassion and empathy.

We are not big; we are not formal. We are a Senior Living Home that is licensed with the state of Oklahoma as an Assisted Living Facility. Our mission is to walk alongside our residents and their families throughout the aging process by providing personalized, compassionate care in a warm, lively, home. We do this by aligning teams to support families through the aging process.

This means that we have personalized meals, and almost 1 on 1 care supported by a Mom and Pysician Assistant, who has gone through this journey with her family.

Meet Katie

Physician Assistant | Licensed Administrator | Female Entreprenuer | Business Owner | Mom | Healthcare Professional

Katie Dickey is a native of Del City, OK. She is a mother, entrepreneur, team builder, Physician Assistant, assisted living administrator and a RALS™ (Residential Assisted Living Specialist - the highest level of professional certification in the industry) who has a heart for care. She obtained her bachelor’s degree from the University of Oklahoma and a master’s degree from Missouri State University. She has served as a physician assistant in Oklahoma City the last 11 years.

Katie is passionate about the idea of residential assisted living because her mother, Melissa, was diagnosed with early onset dementia at the age of 58. One of the challenges in dealing with her mother’s illness was finding her a place to live. After trying out several different options, it seemed her mother thrived best in a home environment. Katie noticed this pattern with her patients in clinic and realized she could provide better care for her patients in their homes instead of a clinic. She is now living out her vision to transform the aging process through the comfort of home.

Katie is married and has three boys. She incorporates her love of family, cooking, reading, and celebrating what is right with the world through the environments she curates in her Senior Living homes. She also serves as a small group leader with Crossings Community Church.

Come have a cup of coffee with her today and see what makes Wellness Ways aging with grace approach unique.

  • “What we didn’t expect was the relief that my husband and I found with Legacy Senior Living. We were exhausted! The administrator actively monitors the well being of the residents and seeks appropriate care for each individual resident. Her knowledge about the medical community is vast and she has been instrumental in getting mom’s needs met.”

  • I looked for countless homes to help support my husband. I couldn't bring myself to put my husband in any of them. Thank you so much for creating such a beautiful, safe and caring home for us.

The Legacy Team

Legacy Assisted Living Team Photo

Legacy Assisted Living was created by the merger of two families who shared the same vision as our late mentor Gene Guarino – Transforming the aging process through the comfort of home. Legacy Senior Living is the first home in Oklahoma City designed to promote freedom for those who need additional support during the aging process, almost everyone who lives past 60 will. Our journey is led by a licensed Physician Assistant, administrator, and business owner Katie Dickey. Katie navigated this journey with her mother, who was diagnosed with early-onset dementia. That is when she realized she could better serve families not in the clinic but in their homes. Her clinical team experience enables her teams to recognize small changes in your loved one’s health to ensure those issues are addressed and do not lead to larger problems (often social). Designing the home to empower residents' autonomy and promoting personalized care through community is how Legacy navigates the aging process. Aging doesn’t require just a room, it is the clinical support, community, energy, empathy, and compassion that come from integrating caregivers and designers to support the process. Aging is so much more than finding a place to live it’s a lifestyle. We look forward to showing you what makes Legacy special. It would be our honor to give your family one of our iconic blankets next!
